Blues Rock - Blues rock became recognized as a genre in the late 60's and was brought to recognition by artists such as Lonnie Mack, Canned Heat, Eric Clapton and many more. Blues Rock can be identified with bluesy improvisation, the 12-bar blues and the attention is mainly focused on the electric guitar player which is visible in my chosen song in which the guitarist has many solos to catch the listeners attention. Artists such as Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix left a lasting influence on blues-rock with their groups such as The Jimmy Hendrix Experience and Cream and their extensive solo careers introduced blues rock to the mainstream audience. After that artists such as The Doors and Janis Joplin continued the trend of blues-rock dominating the mainstream in the 1960's and 70's. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Originators of Blues Rock Cream - Originators of Blues Rock
After the time of many revolutionary artists in the genre blues-rock took a dip in its listeners and popularity as of many listeners inspired by blues-rock tending to make more Hard Rock such as Aerosmith and AC/DC which shifted much of the publics attention towards heavy rock bands. But in the Late 1990's and 2000's blues-rock had a re-birth into the mainstream as of artists such as The Black Keys, White Stripes, Jeff Healey, Them Crooked Vultures e.t.c The Black Keys - Modern Blues Rock

How do the song's lyrics meet the needs and desires of your target audience?
Lyrics have a reference to Love Lost and are raunchy which appeals to blues' target audience.
How would a concept/narrative/performance video meet the needs of the target audience ?
Song has a gritty feel to it and has long gritty guitar solos. Lead singer has a gritty voice.
Chosen Song : Radio Moskow - Broke Down
Pros-Cons of chosen song
Pros - Lead singer has a gritty-raw voice which fits the norm of Blues/Rock - Reminiscent of the sound of revolutionary bands in the blues-rock genre - Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Black Sabbath. - The Band have the gritty look much like Blues-rock bands from the 60's which appeals to all the hardcore blues fans.
Cons - The Song is quite long - Lyrics are quite repetitive - Very fast paced - harder to sync acting with the instrumentals.
Other songs i considered: - The Black Keys - The Breaks - Blues Mafia - Pat's Groove
Why i didn't choose them : - I did an experiment in class where i played my all my chosen songs and received feedback on which song in which i would be able to get most content out of and ideas and which would fit with my genre's norms. - For 'The Breaks' the class didn't think it had sufficient content to make a music video out of and just thought the songs tempo was too slow and wouldn't appeal to my target audience who are into fast gritty paced songs such as my chosen song 'Broke Down'. - I chose not to go with Blues Mafia - Pat's Groove as it had too many pop elements to it which my target audience would dislike and didnt have a gritty feel to it and didnt incorporate any guitar solos which my target audience expect to hear when listening to blues-rock .
